Book release and launch news

You can soon see (read) the project that kept me busy for close to a year and a half. My book 111 Places in Winnipeg That You Must Not Miss with photographs by Gindalee Ouskun is being released in Canada and the United States on October 30, 2024.

The 111 Places series of guidebooks offer locals and visitors the opportunity to see a city or region from a different perspective and go off the beaten path to discover the true character, history, and flavour of a place.

I have lived in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada for over five decades and have explored it with a traveler’s curiosity. My hometown is a big city with the heart of a small town. This diverse city is an artistic and cultural centre with a strong sense of community. It is a city of seasons. Winnipeggers savour their hot summers and embrace the winters.

In the book you’ll find natural wonders, long lost history, delicious foods, art, museums, unique shops, hauntings, curiosities, and much more.

A launch event will take place at McNally Robinson Booksellers in Winnipeg on November 22, 2024 at 7 pm. Read about the details here.

Discover the creative, unpretentious, resilient, and often quirky nature of The Peg in 111 new ways.
